About

The Southern California Railway Museum, formerly known as the Orange Empire Railway Museum, was founded in 1956 at Griffith Park in Los Angeles. The Museum is one of the premier Photo and Film locations in Southern California.

It offers a unique view into Los Angeles transportation from yesteryear. It has the largest collection of rail equipment and artifacts in the western United States. Although the collection focuses on the Southern California region, there are examples of trains and trolleys from all over the USA and the world, including Japan, Ireland, and Canada. There are nearly 100 acres of property and miles of rails in a variety of settings.

Museum also has a collection of more than 200 streetcars and railway vehicles from the early days of electric, steam, and diesel railway transportation in and around Los Angeles.

Locations around the Museum grounds take you from the late 1800’s to present day industrial. Available locations include:
