Culver City Ice Arena closed after 52 years, the Arena was known as a training ground for notable figure skaters and hockey players. Its closure was met with significant community opposition. The campaign to save it included a petition with over 6,400 signatures. Ultimately, the campaign to save the Culver Ice Arena failed, it closed for business in early 2014.
