Alvas Dance Shop for Dance wear has closed, but Alvas Barres Floors Mirrors is open at the San Pedro location, and is still serving the Los Angeles area.. Alvas Dance Shop was established in 1952, then known as “Alva’s Dance & Theatrical Supplies”, with a rich history as an integral part of both the local community and the Dance and Theatrical industry. After 67 years in business, Alvas Dance Shop has begun a temporary hiatus. Their goal is to locate someone with “dancing hearts” as Rosalie and Alva had, and then reemerge the Dance Shop alongside a reborn Rosalie and Alva School of Ballet and Allied Arts.
